I'm stuck in this stupid crate. I shouldn't have been so friendly to that she-wolf Auddie. I should have just kept traveling, now I'm stuck in the pound. The kennel floor is cold, hard cement. A shiver shoots down my spine. The lights flicker for a bit and then finally turn on and my heart races with excitment. The door of the cage opens. Instinctivley, I show my teeth to the trespasser. I lunge forward and nip at the human's feet, she screams and runs out of the kennel. The stupid woman, she left the cage door wide open. I dash with pride out of the cage, and through the door, outside of the horrible pound. I keep running as fast as I can, my heart is pounding, my paws are aching from running, and I assure myself I have to keep going until I am out of the city and safe at the beach. I avoid contact with the humans and leap from bush to bush, tree to tree, looking for a way into the valleys. I spot one, I bolt as fast as I can until I reach the valleys. I am so hungry, but so tired. A small hare dashes out in front of me, adrenaline fills my body once again and I take off after the tiny beast. I leap and am able to grab the tail. The furry monster flops to the ground and I sink my teeth into the poor thing's neck. I finished my meal and took off heading north. I am going to find my father, but I am going to find my love first.
